Your privacy matters to us.
Porta Law P.C. helps families of children with disabilities. When you contact us through this intake form, you share sensitive information about yourself and your child. This notice explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, how we protect it, and your choices.
What we collect
When you fill out the intake form (and any documents you upload), we may collect:
- About you (the parent or guardian): your name, email address, phone number, and mailing address.
- About your child: name or initials, date of birth, and school district.
- About your situation: the concern or question you describe, and any documents you choose to upload (for example, IEPs, evaluations, progress reports, or correspondence).
You control what you share. Please send only what’s needed to describe your situation; you do not have to upload documents to contact us.
How we use your information
We use what you provide only to:
- understand your situation and decide whether our firm can help;
- contact you about your inquiry; and
- if you become a client, provide legal services to you.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising. We do not send your documents to any third-party artificial-intelligence service.
Submitting this form does not make us your lawyers
Sending this form does not, by itself, create an attorney–client relationship. We become your legal representatives only if you and the firm sign a written engagement agreement. Please don’t send confidential details you consider highly sensitive until we’ve confirmed we can represent you. That said, we treat everything you send as confidential.
How we protect your information
- Your connection to our site is encrypted (HTTPS).
- Your information is stored in access-controlled systems and mirrored to the firm’s private, secured cloud storage. Access is limited to firm staff who need it.
- Our staff area is protected by a login.
No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to safeguard your data.
Who we share it with
We share your information only with trusted service providers who help us operate — for example, our secure hosting, our email delivery, and our document e-signature provider. They may handle your information only as needed to provide these services to us. We may also disclose information if required by law.
How long we keep it
If you become a client, we keep your information as long as needed to represent you and as required by our professional and legal obligations. If we do not end up working together, we keep your inquiry for 90 days and then delete it, unless you ask us to remove it sooner.
Your choices
You may ask us to see, correct, or delete the information you submitted. Contact us using the details below and we’ll respond promptly.
Children’s information
This form is intended to be completed by a parent or legal guardian on a child’s behalf. Please do not have your child submit information directly.
